Camp classes incorporate baseball strength training, conditioning, and throwing as well as arm care and velocity enhancement. The goal of this summer program is to further increase the explosive nature of throwing and hitting a baseball using ThrowZone’s core and leg strength conditioning systems, techniques unlike any other in Southern California.
Training is structured to mirror exactly the workouts and weekend clinics conducted at the nationally known Texas Baseball Ranch in Houston, Texas, The Armory Power Pitching Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and Driveline Baseball in Seattle, Washington.
Camp sessions are between 2 to 4 weeks with classes 3 days per week for 2 ½ hours each day. The workout utilizes medicine balls, ropes, chains, box jumps, and weighted sprints for explosive baseball training. At the end of each session, arm care, band work, and a weighted ball throwing routine will be tailored to the individual needs of each player. We will measure and record the reps and mph, which will be charted and used as a staple for the class.
A terrific new addition to this year’s program will be the use of an assessment and functional movement screen on the first day of camp. This will help us pinpoint more precisely any constraints and flexibility concerns and further address particular points of strength and weakness. Before putting a player through our demanding workout, we want them to know exactly where their areas of need are and how we can improve them.
This camp is a perfect complement to any player’s high school and all-star team practices and game schedules. Many of our students have shared how much more prepared they felt heading into their summer games as well as their school practice season the following year.
Like last summer, sessions will be available at two times each day. The first will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the second at 12:45 p.m. Classes will be held indoors at the ThrowZone pitching facility.
