What Can We Do Now?

You have played in multiple tournaments throughout the summer…..you have visited multiple colleges and played in their showcases……also, you have flown all over the southern United States and stayed in weeks worth of hotels and rental cars…..

NOW,  what do you do?

I can assure you that you need to go back to your savings account and see how you are going to replenish that account because Perfect Games, USSSA, Baseball Factory and others have just blindly swiped away at a lot of money.  Cal Ripken tournaments, USSSA World Series?  And for what?  First class accommodations without any plan on how to improve.  That is what they are built to do.  They run great showcases but afterwards it is:   Now What?

I can tell you with all the confidence in the world that not many people have a plan on improvement once these events are all done.  The showcases particularly do not have a plan on what to improve on or how to go about changing what needs to be changed to improve your speed, exit velocity, infield/outfield throws with a radar gun.

I hear coaches say all the time that the radar gun is worthless unless you can throw strikes.  If that is the case then what do all these events have a radar gun and the numbers attached to your name on the event’s master board?

Because it does matter how hard you hit……how fast you throw whether on the mound or on the field.  Objective measurement is always important to development.  Just like your shoes and socks among other items are important.  So what is the most important thing that you can do to improve your skill set and development.

First off, you need to work on getting stronger.  Going to the gym, hiring a trainer, or working on your speed……any of these areas are going to get your body moving more fast.  Like anything, there is a cost but the money you save on NOT attending a showcase and putting it towards a training coach….strength, throwing or hitting…..plays better on your return on investment (ROI) than traveling to God knows where and hoping that you dod well.

Secondly, if you are a hitter than a private coach will be able to watch you and help you understand what you are doing with your swing and make adjustments to better identify pitches and maximizing your strength to connecting to the ball.

Thirdly, if you are a fielder / pitcher then hiring the right person to identify areas of weakness and strength to make sure you are throwing a baseball more efficiently…..or pitching on the mound, the correct coach will help you to throw more hard and take the stress off of your elbow or shoulder.

I have been working with players for almost 24 years now and I can identify parts of the throwing delivery where the slightest adjustments can help you add more miles per hour as we move down the mound and hit our catchers glove on a more permanent basis.  Now, I might be biased by look no further than Throwzone Academy to help with all of you throwing needs.  We have decades of experience in allowing player to improve their skills and abilities on the mound and in a game facing batters. We have helped thousands of kids improve in their travel league and high schools…..we have put many kids into colleges to further their ability to pitch successfully on their collegiate team.

And we have helped dozens and dozens of players make it to professional baseball whether the go through the minor leagues or to MLB (currently we have 10 players who made it to the Major Leagues including 1-Cy Young award winner and 2 – All Star Game attendees…..just announced Tyler Glasnow of the Dodgers just got chosen)….which is more than exciting.

The biggest part of all of this is that using your good hard earned money and putting it toward development will give you more than just attending an event.  The ROI will always work for young players 100’s of times better than going to a showcase.  I promise this and know the results more so than anyone else as I have had to deal with this for past 20+ years in baseball development as much as travel ball and showcases have grown over the years.

Reach out to us today and allow us to help assist your son in his baseball endeavors.  I am always honest and upfront when it comes to what is best for your son on the baseball field especially when it comes to his arm health and recovery.

On a last note, announcements for our Texas Baseball Ranch / Throwzone Camp here in Santa Clarita, will be announced in the next week or so.  Be on the lookout for those pieces.  It is our biggest weekend of the year and I can assure you that it will be one of the biggest and greatest weekends of you son’s development in his life.  The ROI on that weekend alone is the greatest of any of the weeks of training that your son might do…….don’t miss out on it!

With school down to it’s last month, start scheduling your time with Throwzone today as it will get busy very quickly.  Allow yourself to pick out the best day for your son instead of settling one of the days that won’t work as good in your schedule.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Until next time ,

Jim
