It’s The Most Important Time of the Season

Here we are with another summer season behind us.  Vacations were completed, baseball for our sons are in the rear view mirror and now we start to look forward to our next school year.

Did we accomplish everything we set out to do in terms of baseball?

Many players go out with their travel team and play a ton of games against competition that sometimes if much better than they are used to and sometimes it is much worse than we are used to……but nonetheless, we play and play and play and play.  Now that this is done, what did we get accomplished?

Most of the time, not much.  Oh, there are some benefits for players who had to deal with an injury during the spring, or just didn’t get enough at-bats and playing in summer games helped get their confidence back, re-tooled their swing or worked on a new pitch to introduce this next school year.  For those reasons, summer ball could have been a benefit.

However, for 98% of players who played in multiple tournaments, showcases and university led camps, the end of summer baseball left them in no better position to improve their game and are left hoping that a college coach notices them.

Colleges coaches DO NOT notice players who do all these events. University camps do not involve the main coaches on the staff…..they have their volunteer and grad assistants run them so they can make some money since the school isn’t paying them to be there.  The camps pay them.

I won’t get into specifics now BUT the NCAA just made a decision for schools that will completely rock the baseball community for years to come…….I will talk more in next month’s ENewsletter…..but if there is one thing to know is that roster’s spot available has gone down to 34 max players on the roster…..some schools will lose at least 7 less spots and for some schools as many 13 spots.  Which for our players and your sons, there is a less-likely scenario for your son to play college baseball after HS.  It is complicated but even smaller 4 year schools are going to be limited on who they recruit.

If you haven’t gotten better at your position then it is NOW time to improve your skill set……I mean yesterday your training should have begun for this next school year.

Throwzone Academy can be a place to help you improve your game, gain velocity and specifically keep you injury free.

There is another very important event coming up here at Throwzone which is the highlight of the year for all of our participants.  We work together with the Texas Baseball Ranch….http://www.texasbaseballranch.com…….and have them come out to Santa Clarita for 1 weekend of learning and training and giving your son a program to help build their arm strength and gain velocity. This 3 Day Boot Camp has single-handedly put more players into both college and professional baseball ranks then any other method of training ….hands-down the best training ever…..and it is here in Santa Clarita.  See and click the link below:

Registration is filling up fast and we expect to sell-out like we do every year.  All the information you need is there…..it is up to you to sign-up and be a part of it either as a returning camper, or brand new one.  Many times there are players stuck at a velocity number and they just can’t seem to get past it.  Guess what……we have a plan to beat that record and blow past it.  Colleges need right-handed pitchers who are averaging at least 90 mph…..left-handed pitchers at 87 mph……and in all cases, have GREAT grades in the classroom.  This special weekend can help put you on the path to reaching these goals.

Please reach out to me with any questions about the camp as well as questions about our training classes.

Our 7:30 Advanced Training Classes (ATC)…. for those who have been invited and have worked with us for a good period of time…..begins on Monday, August 12 at 7:30p and runs Monday through Thursday.  This ATC will run for the length of the school year and is a tremendous way to build specific velocity as well as learning how to specifically move down the mound, or on the field.  This training is very popular and is geared towards 7/8th graders but primarily HS and college pitchers.

I look forward to continued work with your son and will help any way possible to achieving their goals and dreams!  Begin work again with us today as that includes classes at 4p and 6p too!!

Know that this specific time of the year is the most important when it comes to development.  Don’t miss out on the opportunities Throwzone can present you as you work towards your goals……and dreams!

Until next time…….

Jim
