…he was heading into his sophomore year at West Ranch and eager to refine his mechanics, boost his velocity, and ensure his arm’s longevity in the game. Thanks to Jim’s coaching, Ben’s progress was nothing short of impressive. Within just 6 months, his velocity jumped from 70 mph to 75 mph. By the end of his sophomore year, he hit 82 mph with increased accuracy. In his junior year, he was named West Ranch’s Varsity Pitcher of the Year. During his senior year, Ben’s fastball was clocked at 89 mph.
While the increased velocity is nice, it was Jim’s focus on arm care that was a game-changer for us. He genuinely cares about his students, both on and off the field, ensuring they have enduring careers in baseball. What sets Jim apart is his personalized approach—he tailors his coaching to fit each student’s unique abilities and personality.
During his junior year, Ben received multiple D1 offers, and Jim was an incredible support during the college recruitment process. His advice always came from a genuine desire to see Ben succeed. Ben ultimately decided to continue his baseball career at the University of Southern California, and I know Jim will be cheering him on!
I enthusiastically recommend Jim Wagner to anyone looking to elevate their pitching mechanics and unleash their full potential on the mound.
