A New Chapter for Throwzone Academy

Hello Throwzone Academy Family,

As many of you know, this week marks the end of an incredible chapter for me. After years of coaching, training, and building this amazing community together, it’s time for me to say goodbye to my day-to-day presence here in California as I make my move to Tega Cay, South Carolina. My last day will be Friday, July 10 and early Saturday AM, I will be on a flight to our new home.

Sondra and Lauren are already there getting the house decorated, painted and all that entails.  They are loving it already and I am ready to be in that environment while keeping an eye on Throwzone from afar.

While I’ll certainly miss seeing all of you at the facility each day, this isn’t goodbye to Throwzone Academy. It’s simply the beginning of a new way of leading.

For the time being, I will continue to own and oversee Throwzone Academy from South Carolina. I’ll remain involved in programming, athlete development, long-term planning, and making sure we continue providing the highest level of baseball instruction that our athletes and families have come to expect.  I will be here in Santa Clarita the week of July 26 and August 16 to make sure events happening here are as smoothly than I trust it will be on a long-term basis.

The biggest change you’ll notice is that Ryan Kysar will be taking over the day-to-day operations of the academy. Ryan has earned my complete trust through his knowledge, work ethic, and commitment to our athletes. He understands the standards we’ve built together and shares the same passion for helping players improve both on and off the field.

A short background on Ryan…..he was one of my clients from probably 6th or so and continued to be a student here, especially our camps and Advanced Classes 3-4 nights / week for his entire HS career.  I was there for him as times in his life where life took crazy turns for Ryan, his Mom, Cinda, and his sisters.  He has remained true to what he has learned here as well as through college at University of Arizona, University of San Diego and UC Irvine.  Ryan pitched in big, big games but his love of the art of pitching is second to none.  Ryan will teach your athlete to be the best version of themself as he can….as well as he is as smart as a whip when it comes to pitching and throwing development.

I’m excited for everyone to get to know Ryan even better in this leadership role. I have complete confidence that Throwzone Academy is in excellent hands.

To every player, parent, coach, and family who has supported Throwzone Academy (over 25+ years now) over the years, thank you. You’ve allowed me to do what I love every single day. Watching young athletes grow—not only into better baseball players but into confident, hardworking young men and women—has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Although I’ll now be over 2,000 miles away, you’ll still be hearing from me regularly. I’ll continue to communicate with our coaches, review player development, help design training programs, and stay connected through technology. Distance won’t change our commitment to excellence.

Our mission has never been about one person. It’s about creating an environment where athletes learn to compete, work hard, respect the game, and reach their potential. That mission remains exactly the same.

Thank you for believing in Throwzone Academy. Thank you for trusting us with your athletes. Most importantly, thank you for being part of our family.

I look forward to visiting throughout the year and seeing the continued success of all of our players.

Here’s to the next chapter.

See you at the ballpark,

Until next time…..

Jim

p.s.  There is still room and time left to join our summer program.  The players who have participated thus far have seen great improvements and are having an amazingly fun time doing it.  Reach out to me via text, phone, or email for more information and let us show you how we are committed to improvement especially with HS starting up in a month…which means practices are right around the corner.

p.s.s. Continue to reach out to me about scheduling and time changes….I will get back to you quickly and let Ryan know.  Over time you can ask for his cell phone number as we slowly move toward total communication with Ryan.
