We’re counting down the top 10 reasons why Throwzone’s Summer Training Camp is so important to a player’s development. And here’s reason #10: If your velocity and radar readings are not where you’d like your fastball speed to be, then you need to attend the Throwzone Summer Velocity Enhancement and Arm Health Camp!
Most coaches don’t emphasize fastball velocity, but it’s a known fact that to pitch at the next level of baseball — from junior high to high school, and particularly from high school to college — the number on the radar gun is critical. That velocity matters to all coaches but especially to college coaches, whose first question is always, “What’s a player’s fastball velocity?” when they begin recruiting players. There are other factors, however, if you’re a right-handed pitcher and not pitching close to 87 mph as a starting point, then you won’t be recruited by your favorite or dream school at all.
Throwzone Academy is a full-service throwing and pitching academy that specializes in building arm strength, arm health, and recovery for the thousands of players who have walked through our doors. Through April 2023, over 212 players have reached 90 mph, 83 players have reached 94 mph, and 24 have reached 100 mph.
Camp starts June 5th, so click here to learn more and sign up today!
